Exploring Edinburgh

A London girl exploring the capital of Scotland!

During my recent trip to Scotland, we decided to take a day trip into Edinburgh. It was my first time going to Edinburgh (Scotland in fact) so I was excited to see what it was like.

We arrived in the city early, but it was already buzzing with people. We took a stroll up to the famous Edinburgh castle, and looked at the views over the city. The castle is beautiful, and so are the quaint cobbled streets leading up to it. We didn't go inside the castle on this particular visit, but I would love to go back and see inside. The cobbled streets were lined with cute shops, most of them selling kilts, tartan garments or tweed! I bought some Scottish fudge and biscuits to bring home, and enjoyed listening to the bag pipes being played outside St Giles' Cathedral.

Feeling a bit peckish, we decided to take a pit stop in TGI Fridays. I ordered a Cajun Chicken Cream Pasta that was delicious, and we were lucky enough to have a window seat that looked out to the castle.

Once we were filled up from food, we decided to go shopping down Princes Street. We popped in and out of numerous shops, one in particular being Jenners. The only way I can describe the store is by saying that it is the Scottish version of Selfridges in London. I browsed around the beauty counters and fashion zones, and although tempted, I made no purchases.

The day was amazing, and I love Edinburgh. There are so many things to do there such as The Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh Zoo, Mary King's Close and many more. I would love to return to the city to experience more!

Have you ever been to Edinburgh?

P.S. This is my 200th blog post here on Lily Rose!! Where has the time gone!? Thank you for all your support, and here's to another 200 posts!
