Interview with Lauren Victoria

Welcome back to another blogger interview! As many of you may know I am a huge fan of Pinterest. I must admit that I am a scroller because I love to endlessly scroll and browse through my Pinterest feed pinning photos after photos of pretty much anything that I find interesting (...or pinteresting 😉) The photos I pin reflect my passions and personality, and I love interacting with other bloggers on the site too. One blogger I stumbled across was Lauren Victoria from the blog It's Lauren Victoria, and that's when I decided that I'd love to interview her for post here on Lily Rose. So let's crack on with the interview!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your blog?

Hi, I'm Lauren. I'm nineteen, and I'm from Norwich (England). I'm currently seeking employment, so I can't really say too much about what I am up to at the moment. However, one thing that seems to take up most of my time is my blog. I run a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog. I enjoy sharing tips, advice, experiences and my opinions/thoughts with like-minded people. It's honestly so much fun and I'm so glad I plucked up the courage to start a blog.

Why did you start blogging?

I had been wanting to set up a blog for the longest time. I had read blogs for a good few years with my passion for beauty and fashion growing, as well as my life long love for writing, so I thought why not start my own? My blog has given me the chance to express my thoughts, build confidence, meet new people, learn new skills and have my own creative outlet.

What are your favourite social media sites that you use to enhance your blog?

Twitter is the one for me! I find it is the easiest out of all the social media sites to drive traffic to my blog because it has such a wide audience. Plus it's great for chatting to other bloggers and getting recognised by brands.

What do you do in your spare time?

Pretty much blogging takes up most of my spare time as I said. Although, I also like hanging out with my friends and family. I used to be a massive concert/gig goer a few years back - aww I miss those days!

What are you most looking forward to this year?

This year has been fairly rubbish if I'm honest, but I am looking forward to going away with my family within the next few weeks. We haven't been on holiday in years, so it will be great to get away and have a week away from everything, as well as create some amazing memories together.

How much money do you typically spend on makeup and clothes per month?

Since I'm unemployed, I don't tend to spend a HUGE amount on clothes or makeup. I'd say I spend somewhere around £40 a month maybe on clothes/makeup, which probably isn't a lot to some people. But I know that it is definitely going to change when I have some money coming in!

Have you downloaded a new app that you are loving recently?

I've actually only recently joined the Snapchat hype (haha, I know I'm so late). So I've been enjoying using that and trying out all the filters. Another app I'm loving at the moment is a workout app called Sworkit. It's so good for at-home workouts you'd like to do, the level of it, and how long for. It also gives you the chance at the end to see how many calories you've roughly burned.

What are your top three summer essentials?

My top 3 summer beauty essentials would have to be a tinted moisturiser for a light base, bronzer for an overall bronzed look, and  bright pink lip. On the other hand, my top 3 summer fashion essentials would have to be a pair of denim shorts, some sunglasses, and some lace-up shoes.

Are you guilty of a beauty sin?

Oh I'm not sure on this one! I would probably say being too lazy sometimes to look after my skin properly, so for example, not doing a good enough cleanse on my skin after I've worn makeup. I'm sure all been there when we've been too sleepy at night to take our makeup off properly.

What fashion brand are you loving at the moment?

I'm loving New Look at the moment. I feel like I can always find something in there that I love and it's always so affordable.

Have you attended a blog, beauty or fashion event recently, and can you tell us about your experience?

I haven't attended any I'm afraid. I'd love to though in the future. It would be so much fun!

Where are the top three places that you would like to visit in the world?

Santorini without a doubt. The sun, the sea and the buildings just all look so stunning. I'd also love to go to LA or Australia. Just anywhere really hot or sunny really.

If you were given the opportunity to create a new festival, what would it be called, where would it be located, and who would be in your line-up?

Oh this is such a cool question! It would definitely be located near where I live. But I have no idea what it would be called. 'Lauren's dream festival?' - haha that's so unoriginal! I'd probably have the likes of Beyoncé, Drake, Justin Timberlake, and One Direction of course! (Can't forget One Direction)

What are your goals for the rest of this year?

My goals for the rest of this year are to find a job, preferably an apprenticeship in Digital Marketing or Social Media. I'd love to just improve my mental health too. I suffer with anxiety and depression, so I'd love to learn better ways to cope with that and improve my happiness. I'd love to meet new people and just have fun!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I'd like to see myself in a better place than I am now. I'd like to be settled in a job I love doing, and I'd like to be surrounded by a good group of people. I would like to manage my mental health better and learn to just enjoy life no matter what obstacles come my way.

Thank you so much Lauren for your lovely responses. I totally agree that nothing screams summer essentials then a bronzer, pair of denim shorts and your favourite sunnies! Santorini looks like a dream destination and I think I might download Sworkit soon too! I wish you all the luck in the future with your mental health, and surrounding yourself with a great group of people and settling into an enjoyable job sounds like a brilliant plan to me.
