Greece | London to Athens

Welcome to my Greek Diaries! I spent an amazing week in beautiful Greece with my friends. Greece is such a gorgeous country, and by taking a little road trip to lots of different locations I felt I experienced lots of different aspects in their culture and country. So over the next week and a half I will document each little day spent in Greece through a post which will go live at 7pm each evening!

So let's crack on with Day One!

We woke up super early (4.30am) to catch our coach to Heathrow airport. Once we had arrived through Heathrow we checked in, went through security, and then we were in duty free. We had some time to spare before boarding the plane, so we had a little look around the shops and then we bought a coffee and some breakfast in Pret.

We soon boarded the plane and headed to Athens Airport. It was a 3 hour flight so it wasn't too bad. The time passed by quickly as we had inflight meals, and I stocked up my phone with plenty of tunes. When we arrived in Athens we passed through security, grabbed our suitcases and jumped on a coach to take us to our first hotel.

The first hotel we stayed in was the Hotel Ilissos in Athens. The hotel was lovely with very big rooms, and it's location was perfect in the city. Dinner was served at 7pm and it was a selection of traditional Greek dishes. Luckily I'm not fussy when it comes to food so I thought that everything was delicious and I was more than happy to try new things!

We decided to have an early night as we were feeling very tired, but instead we found ourselves staying up late just chatting and laughing in our room (oops)! Overall it was a lovely first day in Greece and I was excited to see what was the come across the rest of the week!
