Podcasts I'm Currently Loving

In this blog post I'm going to recommend two podcasts full of positivity...

I spend approximately 98.78% of my time listening to music, but for a while now I've also enjoyed listening to podcasts too!

I think podcasts are a great way to learn new things and they're usually pretty funny too. I'm not a big reader and can't remember the last book I read in full (which is really bad I know), but I find podcasts are another great way to widen my knowledge, understand different people, and just learn new opinions and views on the world. There are so many different genres of podcasts, focusing on a large range of topics and so many different people sharing their news, advice, opinions and stories so I am 100% sure there is a podcast out there for everyone.

More recently I have found two podcasts that are guaranteed to put me in a good mood, and hosted by two inspiring women. Both of these podcasts are a perfect listen for all girls and women. They are both full of advice, fun and positivity with amazing guests that are really interesting to listen to.

When Life Gives You Melons

A podcast run by Freya Lingerie but hosted by the amazing TV and Radio Presenter Maya Jama. I love Maya Jama, and I think she's an amazing presenter, and she comes across as such a fun and down-to-earth person which I love - plus she's beautiful! Her personality is perfect for podcasts, and "When Life Gives You Melons" is such a fun and light-hearted podcast to listen to.

The podcast has recently come back for it's second series, and it is described as a podcast about work, life, sex and boobs. All the guests on the podcast are interesting female celebrities relaying stories and providing advice for all women, and it's really funny to listen along to as well!

Some quotes from a few podcast episodes...

"I don't even waste time talking about other people [when I'm with my friend]. If I'm with someone I literally just want to talk about them and what we're doing, and I don't really want to talk about anyone else."

"It's 2018. Why are you still a bitch?"

"There is an illusion that you have to be horrible or stiff to get where you are [in work] but actually the industry is so small that if you were really like that no one's gonna wanna work with you."
"It would be like an avocado - the shelf life is really short."

Ashley Graham is an American supermodel and body activist. She has appeared on many front cover magazines including Vogue, Glamour and Harper's Bazaar. She's become an inspirational figure behind body positivity for all women of different shapes and sizes.

"We are all real women. I can't stand it when I read comments that say 'finally, a real woman.' No matter you shape/size/amount of cellulite - we are in this together."
- Ashley Graham (Vogue)

Ashley Graham comes across as such a bubbly, down-to-earth personality too whilst mixing with some of the biggest celebrities in the world. The first 'A Pretty Big Deal' podcast was an interview with Kim Kardashian West. They spoke about fashion, work, relationships and family, and it was an enjoyable and laid back insight into the life of Kim Kardashian West.

'A Pretty Big Deal' is also a podcast that talks about culture, business, body and being the best you.

A few random quotes from some episodes...

"If she was the first, I can be too"

"I'm obsessed with skincare. I love serums and lasers."

"I'm not a hater, so if I see a girl with some food in her teeth - or a guy or anyone - I am like that. I will let you know; in a subtle way, I'll help you out!"

  1. I've been meaning to try podcasts for a long time now, but I'm not sure where to start so it's great that you've been able to suggest these from your own experience. I think I'm going to give Ashley's a try x

    1. I would definitely recommend them! Ashley's is a great podcast to start with, let me know what you think! x
