Attempting Oreo Reindeer Chocolate Truffles

Welcome to my first festive-themed blog post for 2018!

I was scrolling through Pinterest and came across lots of cute chocolate truffle ideas and I really wanted to try some out. The design that I loved the most was the reindeer looking truffles, and so I quickly looked up a truffle recipe to make, and found a YouTube video creating Cookies 'n' Cream truffles that looked delicious. So I decided to combine the two to create Oreo Reindeer Chocolate Truffles, and here is my attempt...

24 Oreo Biscuit Fillings
1/2 Cup Double Cream
3 Cups White Chocolate Drops

2 Cups Milk Chocolate
Red M&Ms
Edible Eyes
24 Oreo Biscuits Crushed

1. If you haven't already, separate the Oreo Filling from the Oreo Biscuits; keeping the Biscuits aside for later.
2. Add the Oreo Fillings, Double Cream and White Chocolate Drops in a pan.
3. Melt the pan over a low heat until smooth in consistency.
4. Pour the mixture into a tray and leave to set in the fridge.

5. Once the filling is set, roll the mixture between your hands to make balls.
6. Take the Oreo Biscuits that you put aside and crush them in with a sandwich bag and rolling pin.
7. Cut your pretzels into antler shapes - this is more difficult than it looks so you definitely need patience and practice.
7. Melt the milk chocolate.
8. Now it's time to create your truffles.
9. For the Reindeer Truffles, coat one of the balls in milk chocolate and place it on a baking tray. Then add on top the red M&M, the edible eyes and pretzel antlers. Leave to set in the fridge.
10. For the Oreo Dusted Truffles, coat one of the balls in milk chocolate and then coat it in the Oreo Biscuit crumbs. Place it on a baking tray and leave it to set in the fridge.

I was quite happy with how they turned out. Some slip ups on the chocolate coating made them a little messy, but they still look so cute and tasted amazing!

  1. I definitely need to get my festive baking head on, done none so far and I love baking all the Christmas treats!
